“Sign All of LeBron’s Friends”: Kevin Love Rejecting $4 Million Heat Option has Lakers Nation Recruiting 5x All-Star
The Miami Heat power forward Kevin Love has declined the player option, as per ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski. Adding to the main update, there are reports that the 35-year-old and the Heat front office are “enthusiastic” about striking a new deal as soon as the free agency period starts on June 30. The 5x All-Star joined the Heat roster in 2023 and has declined a $4 million opt-in. Though the deal regarding his future is not official or confirmed yet, Love’s relationship with the Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has drawn a new conclusion from NBA fans.
Notably, Kevin Love and LeBron both were part of the Cleveland Cavaliers roster that won the 2016 NBA Championship. That’s why both of them share a bond of friendship beyond the borders of league teams. Even when the basketball duo hailing from Cavs meets now, they share the same handshake they used to do in the past. Moreover, the candid vibe between the NBA veterans is still the same. Though there were reportedly tensions between them during the initial days, it turned out that there was nothing later. Rather, LeBron once posted an IG story for Kevin when he scored a three-pointer against PJ Tucker.

Apparently, with the bond spanning over so many years, the fans are hoping for the return of the Kevin-Bron duo at the Los Angeles Lakers. And there are not even speculations but demands to bring the veteran on to the Lakers. Nevertheless, Kevin has averaged 17.5 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists, with LeBron at the Cavs in over 130 games. That is certainly impressive, but will their chemistry be the same after so many years?
Fans demand to reunite Kevin Love and LeBron James at the LakersSince LeBron has accumulated some of his favorites at the Lakers this year, like JJ Redick as a coach and Bronny James as a player, the fans are demanding the union of Kevin and Bron on the court again for the same side. One of the fans shared the same opinion but also added Chris Paul to the list as he commented on X, “Lakers just gonna sign all of LeBron’s friends. Kevin Love. Chris Paul. Bronny’s there. Just maximize the vibes.”
One user on X was so excited about Kevin Love’s free agency update that he straight neglected the chance of the Heat center returning to his team. Rather, the user demanded that the Lakers land Kevin on their roster.
Another Lakers fan implied the requirement of a forward with the ability to shoot farther from the basket than a conventional forward. The purple and gold jerseys have LeBron as the main conventional forward. Kevin can act as the fourth stretch, and that’s how he demanded his presence at the Lakers.

One of the fans got on the financial edge of the demand for Kevin getting to the Lakers. Since James and Co. already have multiple stars, it will be suitable for them to offer Love a veteran minimum offer, considering his experience on the court. Also, James’ team has not signed such a contract yet with anyone, so the fan implied that it’ll be the first time for the team.

One of the fans used emotional tactics to convince Kevin to choose the Lakers over the Miami Heat. Apparently, Kevin’s hometown is California, so he’ll be closer to his family if he joins LeBron James and Co. That’s why the fan invited the Heat forward home.
