‘SNL’ Cold Open sees Kamala Harris on Fox News
Saturday Night Live’s 50th season is rolling along, as the real world provides no shortage of strangeness for the show to parody. This week, Maya Rudolph continued her excellent portrayal of Vice President Kamala Harris, who went into enemy territory for a sit-down interview with Fox News.
Alec Baldwin stepped in to play Fox News’s Bret Baier, who tried to grill Harris in their 1-on-1 interview. Throughout the sketch, Baier continuously interrupted Harris, with the clear goal of making the Vice President look bad on TV. Meanwhile, Harris seemed keen on securing a viral moment from her Fox appearance.
The always excellent Dana Carvey returned as President Joe Biden and James Austin Johnson continued his role as SNL’s Donald Trump. Baier attempted to use out-of-context clips from Trumpâs rallies to undermine Harris, but instead, the scene hilariously exposed Trumpâs questionable choice of rally music â cue some unexpected gay anthems like “It’s Raining Men” and “Y.M.C.A.” blasting from the speakers.
âDoes he not listen to the lyrics?â a confused Maya Rudolph as Harris quipped.
