Actress Fulo Mugovhani says she always makes sure she does her best when she’s on set.

WHILE most watch movies for entertainment, others watch them with a critical eye.

Actress Fulo Mugovhani said she always makes sure she does her best when she’s on set.

The 33-year-old from Thohoyandou in Limpopo is known for her roles in Scandal! She has done movies including Happiness Ever After, Ayanda, and Happiness is a four-letter word, among others.

She said acting could be a challenge.

“Being under the script, you don’t know if you can reach the depths of the emotions that the character is willing to go to,” Fulo said.

Unlike any other job, actors get to be judged while doing the job, she said.

“Our work is seen on TV, and people can comment and critique, which is fair given the platform we’re in.”

Fulo said actors always have to do their best, knowing that millions of people are auditing them.

“You’re seen and judged, with or without skills. We’re entertaining the public, and they have the right,” she said.

The actress has been in the industry since 2012, and her biggest highlight is acting in Scandal!

“That was a great career milestone. Being in such an acclaimed soapie with amazing story writers, crew and being part of that assemble was rewarding.”

She said another career highlight includes being in the movie Ayanda.

“Getting to travel to festivals and winning my SAFTA because of Ayanda. The story was a career milestone because it was my first film,” she said.

Fulo is starring in a South African supernatural thriller film titled Burns and Song.

She said when she found out about the role, she was intrigued.

“It was appealing and had themes. It scared me in terms of the level of emotion I have to tap into and other things I haven’t done as an actress since I started,” she said.
