Kaizer Chiefs confirmed in July last year when offering long-time goalkeeper and captain Itumeleng Khune an extension to his contract that it would be the last.

But it’s understood the veteran goal minder is holding thumbs that the Glamour Boys can go back on their word, although sources have suggested it’s unlikely.

The shot stopper will turn 37 next month, just a few days before his current deal with Chiefs expires, and as things stand the club is yet to indicate the way forward.
