Snl24 | Chippa remain banned until next year
Chippa United boss Siviwe Mpengesi has transfer ban blues, stretching until next year, to worry about.
DStv Premiership bottom half dwellers Chippa United have been left without transfer options following further specifications on their FIFA imposed transfer ban.
Chippa’s ban came on the back of issues related to Tanzanian defender Abdi Banda’s season long stay at the club.

Banda spent the 2022/23 season at Chippa but left with unsettled issues which led to him filing a case with FIFA over unpaid monies amounting to R1,2 million.
With the matter not resolved as of November 2023, FIFA then issued a judgement that prohibits Chippa from signing new players.
According to the latest information from FIFA, Chippa will now not be able to make signings for three consecutive transfer windows effective November 14, 2023.
This means the Chilli Boys will not be able to do any transfer business in the current window through to the July/August off-season window and again in January 2025.
Royal AM is listed as the other DStv Premiership club serving a transfer ban.
These transfer bans are pending further developments.Â
Banda joined Chippa from Mtibwa Sugar in July 2022 playing 17 games with a return of one goal before leaving but in his exit the Eastern Cape club failed to meet their end of the settlement agreement. Â

The 28-year-old has since moved to Richards Bay and is currently at the AFCON with Tanzania.
For Chippa – who are down in 13th place and now have Thabo September and Kwanele Kopo in charge following the redeployment of Morgan Mammila – they will now have to make do without any signings from other clubs until the end of next season.
