The draw was held on Tuesday afternoon in Egypt, with Sundowns going in as the only South African representative still on the continent across all African club competitions this season.Â
Rulani Mokwena’s side finished top of Group A ahead of DRC giants TP Mazembe, losing just one of the six matches they played in the round robin phase.Â

Young Africans, meanwhile, finished second in Group D on eight points, registering two victories and two draws.
Last season, Sundowns were drawn to play Algerian side CR Belouizdad in the quarterfinals and cruised to victory. They registered a 6-2 aggregate victory over their opponents, sending out a strong message in the early stages of the knockout round, before being booted out of the competition in the last four by Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca.
Should Sundowns win the clash against Young Africans, they will face either Esperance of Tunisia or Ivorian side ASEC Mimosas.
