Snl24 | Ex-Muvhango actress hits big time!

Yolanda Buthelezi, who is marking her territory in the entertainment industry.

PROMISING actress Yolanda Buthelezi is aiming high with her acting career.

She’s inspired by her lead role in the new Mzansi Magic drama series, Code 13.

The 28-year-old from Ulundi, KZN plays Mpho in Code 13. She stars alongside top actors such as Zolisa Xaluva, Saint Seseli, and Lunathi Mampofu.

She said she’s ready to make her mark in the entertainment world and reach new heights. Code 13, which is produced by Seriti Films, is a drama series about crime, corruption, and betrayal.

Yolanda played Zamazonke on Muvhango, and has also appeared on Sibongile and the Dlaminis, but Mpho is her biggest role yet.

The drama series starts with Mpho escaping from jail disguised as a man, then returning home as Patrick, played by Saint Seseli.

Yolanda said her role will grow, and viewers will learn why Mpho was jailed and disguised.

She credits Muvhango for her solid acting foundation, despite not studying acting.

“I’ve always wanted to be on TV, but my family thought I should have a proper qualification hence I studied and graduated with a degree in BCom marketing and business management. But my uncle saw I had a passion for TV and when he saw a casting call for Muvhango on X, he shared it with me, and the rest is history” she said.

Yolanda said she learns a lot from her experienced co-stars such as Saint Seseli, who helps her feel comfortable on set. 

Code 13 airs every Sunday on Mzansi Magic at 8pm.
