In this week’s edition of My Muti Story, former Orlando Pirates striker Bruce Ramokadi reveals how he stole the superpowers of Wilfred Mugeyi and William Mugeyi.

Ramokadi says they were in camp on the eve of a BP Top 8 encounter between the Buccaneers and Bush Bucks when he unintentionally stumbled on the Mugeyi twins fast asleep in a hotel room.

Who and where?

“We were playing a BP Top 8 against Mthatha Bucks. Usually, we used to share the same hotel with opponents. Hotels would mix the two teams in the same corridor. On the same level.

“And unfortunately, that night they did the same thing, we shared the same level. I decided to leave my hotel room to look for one of my teammates when by mistake I entered one of the Mthatha Bucks squad hotel rooms.

“The room was next door to mine and its door was slightly open, from the door till outside there paper wraps all over until inside. Muti wraps.

“Inside that room, I saw the two Mugeyi brothers in deep sleep, they were not even aware that I was there. The room was full of smoke, I guess it was the smoke from the muti that they had burnt. I slowly went out of the room and left them there.”

Why do you think they were doing it?

“I don’t know, I think to win that match so badly, they wanted to shine on the day, or maybe they were just protecting themselves you will never know.”

What did you do after your discovery? What did you do with the information?

“Nah, I did nothing, it was nothing new to me.”

And then, what happened on matchday?

“Come match day, guess who scores the only goal of the match? Me [laughs]. We beat them 1-0. I had stolen their superpowers [laughs]. It turned out I had stolen their luck.”
