JOTHAN Msibi, also known as Mswazi the Taxi Boss, died on Sunday afternoon, 7 January.Â
Mswazi, who owns a fleet of taxis, is alleged to have died in a Pretoria hospital following a brief illness after being allegedly admitted to the hospital about a month ago.Â
Msibi was once the president of the South African Local and Long Distance Taxis and Buses Organisation.
A member of Msibi’s family confirmed the taxi boss’ death to Sunday World.Â
“I can confirm that Mswazi is no longer alive,” the family told the publication.Â
“His untimely demise is still being absorbed by his family. We’re gathering as a family to discuss his funeral preparations and the future. Following that, we will make a public announcement,” the relative said.

The family member said his cause of death was still unknown.
Msibi is remembered as a man who came from humble begins to become a well-known transport mogul via hard work, vision and determination.
His first highlight began in the early 1990s with the founding of Santaco and the implementation of routes, licences, and associations.Â
