Snl24 | Funeral details for Pirates legend revealed
The late football star, Stanley ‘Screamer’ Tshabalala, will be laid to rest on Thursday.
THE late football legend and former Orlando Pirates star, Stanley Tshabalala, will be buried on Thursday, 18 July 2024.
The Tshabalala and Orlando Pirates family announced that the funeral service will start at 9am at Grace Bible Church in Pimville, Soweto, followed by the burial at Westpark Cemetery in Joburg.
The former football star, who was better known as Screamer or Bra Stan, died at the age of 75 in hospital on Thursday, 11 July. This was after he succumbed to the injuries he suffered when he was shot in March 2024. Â
Screamer died at the age of 75 in hospital, following complications from injuries sustained in a shooting incident at his home on the outskirts of Centurion, Tshwane, in March.

“The procession will depart from Grace Bible Church to Westpark Cemetery where the burial service will be held,” the statement read.
Thato Matuka, family spokesperson, told Daily Sun that there will be no memorial service for the late soccer star, only the funeral service in Soweto.
“As you have seen, Pirates only released a statement regarding the funeral. We don’t have a memorial service,” Thato said.
Dineo Tshabalala, daughter of the late footballer, mentioned that they’re currently focused on the funeral preparations.
“We’re busy right now with the preparations for him. We will talk to you when we are done here,” she stated.
