FATHERāS Day is just around the corner and what better way to celebrate it than by educating dads on being better role models to their children.
These were the words of gospel singer, Oscar Moloi.Ā
Oscar from Mogong Village outside Rustenburg, North West, shared his Fatherās Day plans, which will be celebrated on Sunday, 16 June.
He said heāll spend the day with fathers at church, sharing the word of God. He believes many fathers are failing as they rely on their own understanding instead of seeking wisdom from the word of God.
As a gospel artist, Oscar believes gospel music can be used to touch and transform peopleās lives.
He said:Ā
āMany dads are struggling. Itās sad that a man commits suicide because opening up about our problems seems weak.”
He said they will use this Father’s Day as an opportunity to reflect on their journey as fathers and express how they feel about their experiences.
āBeing a present father plays an important role in our children’s lives. It shapes their experiences and provides them with a foundation of love and guidance,ā he said.
Oscar, who is also a firefighter, encouraged dads to provide for their families and also make time for them.

āIt can be a bit of a daily challenge sometimes. There are days when you feel you’re messing up. However, opening up communication lines with your family can be crucial,” he said.
āDonāt be afraid to ask for help. Remember, there are no perfect dads, just dads who love their kids. Prioritising family time is a key value. Be present. Find time to spend with your kids because they grow up too fast. Donāt miss a single moment with them.ā
Oscar also shared that he’ll be spending time with his eight-year-old daughter after church.
