Chidimma Adetshina who has been under the spotlight quit.

MISS South Africa 2024 contestant, Chidimma Adetshina, has officially withdrawn from the competition amid growing speculation surrounding her nationality.

In a heartfelt statement, the 23-year-old expressed her gratitude to everyone who supported her throughout her journey in the Miss SA competition.

“I would like to start off by thanking everyone who has stood by me from the start of my Miss South Africa journey. I am really grateful for all the love and support I have been shown,” she said.

Chidimma has been at the center of intense scrutiny this week, with questions arising about her citizenship status.

“Being part of the Miss South Africa 2024 competition has been an incredible experience. However, after much careful consideration, I have made the difficult decision to withdraw from the competition for the safety and well-being of my family and myself. With the support of the Miss South Africa Organisation, I leave with a heart full of gratitude for this amazing journey,” Chidimma continued.

Her decision follows an announcement by the Department of Home Affairs on Wednesday, 7 August, revealing that prima facie evidence had been found suggesting that Chidimma’s mother may have allegedly committed fraud to obtain her citizenship.

As the Department of Home Affairs continues its investigation, Chidimma’s withdrawal has added a significant twist to the competition. In her closing remarks, Chidimma extended her best wishes to her fellow finalists.

“I want to take this opportunity to wish my fellow finalists all the best for the remainder of the competition. Whoever wears the crown will represent us all,” she concluded.
