The 32-year-old rapper succumbed to fatal injuries in a severe car accident on the N8 in Bloemfontein, Free State on Wednesday afternoon, 24 July.
Reports indicate that the Lerato hitmaker was travelling with two crew members, Lizwi Wokuqala and Puleng Phoofolo, when the accident occurred. The vehicle had five occupants at the time of the crash.
Mondli Mvambi, spokesman for the Free State Health Department, confirmed that the accident claimed three lives and left two people injured.

“The Free State Department of Health confirms that Emergency Services responded to a fatal accident on the N1 near the Koppies turn-off. Upon arrival, EMS found a light motor vehicle that had collided with a heavy motor vehicle.
“There were five people in the light motor vehicle. Two were critically injured but are now stable in hospital (male and female). Three males were declared dead at the scene. Preliminary facts indicate that the vehicle was travelling from Gauteng towards Bloemfontein,” he said.

Mvambi also noted that the accident involved well-known musicians.
“The department is reliably informed that the accident involved some of the prominent musical artists at about 13:02 this afternoon, Wednesday, 24 July 2024. Their managers have been informed and have attended the scene and the hospital, to gather full details of the incident and those involved, so that the next of kin of those involved in this fatal accident may be decently informed,” he said.
The department’s policy prohibits disclosing the names of accident victims. Mvambi urged the public to respect the privacy of the families involved.
Notoane Makoko from Lesotho, a close friend of Malome Vector, shared that he received information about the incident from family members.

“His brother confirmed that Malome Vector, Lizwi, and Damos died at the scene, while Puleng Phoofolo and the driver are in hospital. I just got this information from his brother Mochoni Moleli. Tomorrow, I will visit his home in Mangopeng, Roma,” he said.
Tlotlisang Setsomi, another close friend, declined to comment, preferring to leave the matter to officials.
Malome Vector was a pioneering new-school Sesotho rap artist from Roma, Lesotho. He grew up listening to traditional Sesotho music and later discovered motswako rap. He began his music career in the early 2010s and was signed by Ambitiouz Records in 2020. He was also best known for his song Dumelang featuring Blaq Diamond.
