The future prospects of a Kaizer Chiefs player, who has largely been on the periphery since joining the club, now look brighter thanks to the latest developments in his career.

Chiefs had as many as four players sidelined with serious injuries when they departed for their pre-season training camp in July, in Tebogo Potsane, Dillan Solomons, Mduduzi Mdantsane and George Matlou.

As if that was not enough, the duo of left-footed defenders Edmilson Dove and Bongani Sam were also forced to return early from the camp due to sustaining lengthy injuries.

However, Amakhosi faithful is breathing a collective sigh of relief after it emerged earlier this week that Dillan Solomons had returned to full training having undergone surgery.

In more good news for the side’s fans, the latest training footage, as incoming from the Soweto giants, reveals that Potsane has also returned to training with the rest of the squad.

The speedy winger last featured on 30 December 2023 in a 1-1 draw against Sekhukhune United and had been linked with a move away.

Potsane had been signed ahead of the 2023/24 season on a three-year deal and enjoyed a bright start to life at Naturena, with his two assists coming in his first six matches.

However, the winger’s playing time was drastically reduced following the sacking of then-head coach Molefi Ntseki and the arrival of Cavin Johnson, with the groin injury exacerbating matters.

He would go on to make just 11 appearances, with those two assists his last contribution for the campaign.

A new head coach and an all-new technical team present a lifeline for Chiefs’ forgotten man, who will now be eager to impress.
