Black Leopards chairman Chief Thidiela reveals they have turned down an R8 million offer from some big club for their star striker Bethuel Muzeu.

The Namibian has been a marvel to watch in front of goal for Lidoda Duvha this past season, finishing second on the Motsepe Foundation Championship scoring chart.

The 24-year-old, who represented Namibia at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, has attracted interest both locally and abroad.

However, so far, what interested clubs have offered Leopards for his services is way below the club’s expectations.

“I’m still weighing options, the first option might be taking him out of the country,” Thidiela tells KickOff.

“The guys that are representing him, I think they are looking at Turkey and Belgium.

“There is a big team from Sudan, and also some local teams I can’t mention. His potential move is being arranged now. Obviously, it’s his agents who are doing everything.

“During the AFCON, a team was offering me R8 million, they wanted to pay us less just because we were playing in the lower division.

“But to me, if a player can play, then it doesn’t matter in which division they play.

“We are also willing to do deals that include a sell-on agreement with teams.

“Muzeu, I think he is worth around R15 million. I mean, he is still young, he is not even 25 years old yet.

“He is a Namibian international. I think he is the next Peter Shalulile, judging by his work, the behaviour. He is a ZCC member, meaning with him you don’t have to worry about alcohol issues.

“All those elements show he is going to be a great player. He only lost out on the Golden Boot by one goal. He scored 18 goals for us this season.”
