Magesi FC 2-0 Baroka
Magesi climbed up to the top of the table after beating Baroka 2-0 in the Limpopo derby on Sunday afternoon at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Edmore Chirambadare broke the deadlock for Magesi nine minutes before the interval and Wonderboy Makhubo doubled their lead early in the second stanza.
The win for the Dikwena took them to the top of the table by virtue of a superior goal difference over Orbit College while Bakgaga dropped down to fourth on the log, five points behind their provincial rivals.
Platinum City Rovers 0-0 University of Pretoria
University of Pretoria missed the chance to remain at the top after a goalless draw against against Platinum City Rovers on Sunday afternoon at Isak Steyl Stadium.
AmaTuks dropped down to third on the table, one point behind leaders Magesi but a point lifted City Rovers out of the relegation zone on goal difference, in 14th spot.
Saturday, 02 March
Venda Football Academy 1-2 Orbit College
Promotion-chasing Orbit College bounced back to winning ways after a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Venda Football Academy on Saturday afternoon at Thohoyandou Stadium.
Fortune Mathebula grabbed an early lead for Venda but Orbit equalised with 13 minutes remaining and found the winner just four minutes later.
Orbit went up to second on the log and missed out on top spot on goal difference to Magesi and Venda dropped down to the bottom of the log.
JDR Stars 2-3 Upington City
Upington City won for the first time since the restart after edging JDR Stars in a five-goal thriller thanks to a brace by Keletso Makgalwa on Saturday afternoon at Giant Stadium.
Makgalwa gave Upington the lead within the first seven minutes and doubled their lead on 19 minutes and completed his brace.
Prince Nxumalo reduced the deficit for JDR on the half-hour mark but Bokang Mokwena restored a two-goal cushion for the visitors with 16 minutes remaining.
Nxumalo gave the Hammerboys hope after he pulled back another goal four minutes later and also grabbed his brace but Bafana Ba Gucci held on to the maximum points.
Upington went up to fifth on the standings while Stars dropped down to tenth.
Casric Stars 0-2 Black Leopards
Black Leopards clinched back-to-back victories after beating Casric Stars 2-0 on Saturday afternoon at Solomon Mahlangu Stadium.
The win lifted Lidoda Duvha up to seventh on the table and Casric dropped down to eighth.
Pretoria Callies 1-0 Marumo Gallants
Ten-man Marumo Gallants dropped down to the relegation zone after a narrow 1-0 loss to Pretoria Callies on Saturday afternoon at TUT Stadium.
Mpho Mvundlela opened the scoring for Callies after just six minutes and Gallants found the going tough after they were reduced to ten men in the last 20 minutes following a red-card to Itumeleng Shopane.
The Romans jumped up to 11th on the table while Bahlabane Ba Ntwa dropped down to 15th on the log.
Friday, 01 March
Maritzburg United 1-0 NB La Masia
Maritzburg United finally won their first game of 2024 after edging NB La Masia 1-0 on Friday evening at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium.
Joslin Kamatuka scored the decisive goal for Maritzburg on the stroke of half-time as they moved up to ninth on the log with 25 points.
La Masia, meanwhile, dropped down to 12th, two points behind the Team of Choice on the table.
Milford 1-3 Hungry Lions
Milford could not build on their Nedbank Cup shock win over Kaizer Chiefs after they lost their second game of 2024 following a 3-1 thrashing by Hungry Lions on Friday afternoon at Princess Magogo Stadium.
The sides went to the half-time break deadlocked, before Raymond Daniels opened the scoring for Lions on the hour-mark.
Ronaldo Van Neel sealed the result for Ditau Dia Rora in added time.
Thobela Sikhakhane scored a consolation goal for Milford deep in stoppages.
The Stallions fell down to 13th on the table while Lions moved up to sixth.
