ADVOCATE Moafrica Wa Maila has slammed the court for delaying Prophet Paseka Mboro’s bail application proceedings.
The advocate was spitting fire when he addressed the media in the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court on Monday, 9 September.
He claims the court is not handling the matter professionally.
Advocate MoAfrica Wa Maila, who is representing the controversial pastor, accused the state of ill-treating his client.
He said there have always been delays with his client’s bail application.
“Last week when our client applied for urgent bail with new evidence, proceedings started late and it’s also happening today.
“We’ve been in the court building corridors for the longest period trying to convince the state to allow court proceedings to start,” explained Maile.
He added that last week they were promised the bail application with new evidence would start at 8.30am but that didn’t happen.

“The urgent application was supposed to be attended to with urgency, because our client’s rights are at stake now. I don’t want it to seem like I’m an advocate that’s attacking the state, but we’re having a crisis at this present stage. If we are not happy with the court’s outcome we’re going to take the matter to the High Court,” said Maila.
Mboro and his co-accused, his relative and bodyguard Baloyi, are facing 12 serious charges, including kidnapping, possession of an unlicensed firearm, discharging a firearm, assault, and malicious property damage.
This followed a video that went viral on Monday, 5 August, showing the panga-wielding Mboro threatening teachers at Matsediso Primary School in Katlehong, his bodyguard carrying a firearm inside the school premises, and abducting two kids who are Mboro’s grandkids.
The incident is reportedly part of an ongoing custody battle between the kids’ maternal and paternal families.
