This is the money that both Bafana Bafana and DR Congo will get for reaching the semi-finals.

Beyond that, what will then be of interest, is how much each player pockets.
For reaching the quarter-final at the 2019 AFCON, each player went away with earnings in the region of R520Â 000 each.
At that tournament in Egypt, a place in the last eight was worth USD800Â 000 (approx. R15 million at the current rate).
Having now secured R47,33 – which is only from the tournament prize money – it means every player in the squad will get rewards in the region of R1 million.
Danny Jordaan, the SAFA president, was in the news prior to the team leaving for Cote d’Ivoire clarifying issues related with money for the players.
The SAFA bigwigs then went into a meeting with the representatives of the players who included Ronwen Williams, Themba Zwane, Siyanda Xulu, Percy Tau, and Veli Mothwa to iron out the matter.
This then meant Bafana went into this year’s tournament with a performance-based agreement that that ups the rewards with every stage that the team reaches.

Bafana have this year reached the semi-finals for the first time since the year 2000.
Had they reached the final then there would have been USD4 (approx. R75 million) at stake as the loser and USD7 million (approx. R132 million) as the winner which is what Nigeria and Cote d’Ivoire will be playing for on Sunday.
