Snl24 | Murder accused madalas die in jail!

TWO madalas, who allegedly killed another madala at an old age home in May, have both died.

The madalas, Daniel Madumo (92) and Jeremiah Mmatli (75), were arrested after they allegedly assaulted madala Motsepe Godfrey Thema (80) with crutches at Ipeleng Bagodi Old Age Home in Jericho, North West.

On the day of the incident, madala Motsepe was from the bathroom when he met the suspects who were entering the bathroom.

North West police spokeswoman, Lieutenant-Colonel Amanda Funani said madala Motsepe allegedly bumped one of the other madalas, who then hit him with crutches.

“The suspect’s companion apparently joined his friend and they both assaulted the victim,” Funani said.

She said madala Motsepe sustained head injuries and was transported to hospital where he was certified dead on arrival.

Now, the suspects, madalas Madumo and Mmatli have also died. This was confirmed by Correctional Services spokesman, Singabakho Nxumalo.

He said the two madalas were both admitted to Kgosi Mampuru II Correctional Centre on 3 June.

Nxumalo said Madumo had to be transferred to an outside hospital on Saturday, 22 June due to health complications. Sadly, he died on Monday, 24 June. Mmatli died on Thursday, 20 June.

“With both accused now deceased, the court will provide direction on what is to happen with the case,” said Nxumalo.
