The speedy attacker went from being close to the exit door, to making a complete U-turn on his future at the Egyptian giants.
This is after the latest reports emerging from Egypt suggested that the 30-year-old and the Al Ahly management have put their differences aside and have decided to continue their working relationship for the remainder of Tau’s contract.
Tau does have one year left on his contract, which expires in June 2025 and indications are that he will remain with the club until then.
Egyptian website Elahlyelyom reported that Tau announced his decision to the team that he intends to stay.
The Witbank-born star had been linked with a number of teams in the current transfer window including Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs, Wydad Athletic and the latest club being Turkish outfit Sivasspor.Â
Al Ahly will face Gor Mahia in the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League on Sunday, 15 September.
