Orlando Pirates could be close to agreeing terms with a Zambia-based DR Congo striker to bring him to Bucs at the end of the current season, the Siya crew has been informed.
As previously reported by the Siya crew, both Mamelodi Sundowns and Pirates were possibly interested in Andy Boyeli but it then seemed as if Bucs were in front of the queue because the Brazilians were busy with other targets.

Siya sources in Zambia and South Africa have now indicated that Pirates may be close to agreeing terms with the Power Dynamos player. The sources have added that Bucs may look at offloading more strikers at the end of the season to bring in Boyeli.
“The talks between the two clubs are apparently in an advanced stage and why the deal didn’t happen in January is because it could have involved the international transfer clearances as well as a work permit. That’s why they moved the whole deal to the end of the season,” said the Siya source.
“They believe that by that time it will be ideal for the player to move without hiccups and delays. So expect him to be at Pirates in the new season,” the source observed.

A second Siya source believes that at the end of the season Pirates will release other strikers and foreigners so that the Congolese will have a spot in the team.
“They wanted him in January but when it couldn’t work they made sure they brought back (Tshegofatso) Mabasa and didn’t release (Souaibou) Marou as they didn’t want to be short in that department. But come the end of the season some of these strikers won’t be there and Boyeli will be coming in.
“That deal is as good as done. It’s just a matter of time for him to come and finalise everything,” the source told the Siya crew.
Soccer Laduma contacted Pirates for comment but no response was received when this story was published.
