Moroccan reports state that an administrative error is the only factor standing between Mokwena’s unveiling at Wydad.
That is after media outlet Lesiteinfo reported that Mokwena’s passport is proving to be the hold-up in the matter with a deal already agreed between the club and the coach’s camp.
It also states that Mokwena is unable to enter Morocco due to a clerical error with the coach’s documents, though this matter is speedily being attended to as Mokwena and his new technical team are expected to be unveiled in the course of this week.
Wydad are believed to have won the race for the coach’s signature, fighting off competition from the likes of USM Alger and an unknown team from Saudi Arabia.

If everything goes through with the agreement as reported, then Mokwena will have the tough task of reestablishing Wydad among the big hitters in the Moroccan Botola having finished the 2023/24 season in sixth place. The club will also take part in the FIFA Club World Cup in June next year.
