New Orlando Pirates players have been given a clear message by head coach Jose Riveiro regarding breaking into the team, with each of them still waiting to make their respective first appearances.
Gilberto, Selaelo Rasebotja and Deano van Rooysen are the three new faces that have been brought into the team this season.

Rasebotja was an unused substitute for the Buccaneers last Sunday when they took on Madagascan club Disciples FC in the CAF Champions League first round, first leg clash and will be hoping to get some minutes when they play the return encounter at Orlando Stadium on Friday night.
Riveiro explained that he sees the new and old players as one, urging everyone to work hard to get into the team. It’s a clear indication that recently signed players will not get preference over the older individuals simply because they are new.
“Obviously, there is always one reason why I play some players and not others. I don’t see the players like new ones or not new ones. We just try to go to the games and play as good as we can with the players that we have available. I am not making any difference between new players and players who were here one year or two years ago,” Riveiro said in a press conference held at Orlando Stadium on Thursday, ahead of Friday night’s encounter.

“We are all part of the same team. We have a really big squad and the only thing they can do is work as well as possible, be patient and wait for the opportunities. Everybody in the squad is capable to play for this team and it’s about patience, whoever you are; whether you are new or not new.”
