As previously reported by the Siya crew, former Highlands Park coach Allan Freese, who worked with Mokwena at Platinum Stars, will serve as technical director at the club and, as expected, Sinethemba Badela will be the assistant coach. Sibusiso Makitla will be the team’s analyst and Sibusiso Mahlangu has been appointed as the fitness trainer.
Michael Loftman, who was expected to form part of Mokwena’s technical team, is not going to join Wydad, as he will be taking a sabbatical.
Mokwena has been busy trying to finalise his technical team and is expected to bring in new players, with Bongani Zungu linked with the club. According to reports, Zungu is close to completing a move to the Moroccan giants, but has not completed a medical yet.
Wydad are expected to officially announce the technical team soon. It will be a big season for Mokwena and his technical, after Wydad finished sixth in the league last season.
