SABC1 Zulu newsreader Noxolo Mtshali-Mwali has left the public broadcaster.
TOP newsreader Noxolo Mtshali-Mwali has left the SABC after 15 years with the public broadcaster.
The 36-year-old from Ulundi in KZN joined SABC1 in 2009 as a Zulu newsreader and moved on to do the weather report.
Later, she presented lunchtime and evening news bulletins.Ā
Noxolo told Daily SunĀ there’s no bad blood between herself and the SABC.
“It was a mutual understanding between the two parties,” she said.
āEvery year, we renew our contracts at the SABC. This year, my contract wasn’t renewed. I won’t disclose the finer contractual details and discussions between the SABC and myself.”

Noxolo said that she loves reading news in her mother tongue.
āI’ve learnt a lot and grew as a news anchor and presenter. I’m grateful to the SABC for the opportunity. Iām what I am today because of the SABC. Unfortunately, everything comes to an end. Iām heartbroken to announce that 27 March was my last bulletin on the Zulu news desk,ā she said.
Noxolo left the SABC after many SABC1 Zulu and Xhosa presenters, voice-over artists and weather report presenters recently left the public broadcaster.Ā
SABC acting Group Executive for Corporate Affairs and Marketing, Mmoni Seapolelo confirmed that Noxolo resigned.
āThe SABC can confirm that she has resigned, and we wish her well in her future endeavours,ā she said.Ā
