Orlando Pirates have a chance to finally match or even surpass Kaizer Chiefs’ trophy haul as soon as this season.
If Orlando Pirates lift a record third MTN8 title in a row next month then they will shrink the silverware gap on their biggest rivals – Kaizer Chiefs, to within touching distance.
Pirates have a date with Stellenbosch in this year’s final to be played on Saturday, October 5.

It is a decider that will elevate Pirates to a historic seat of becoming the first club to win this competition three years in a row.
No coach has come into the PSL and won two cups in his first year which he then went to defend the way Jose Riveiro did in his first two years at Pirates in lifting the MTN8 and Nedbank Cup consecutively.

As it stands, The Bucs could get to 20 as soon as this season with the DStv Premiership, MTN8, Carling KnockOut Cup, Nedbank Cup, and CAF Champions League all at stake for them.         Â
