THE House of Grace Ministries Zion Church is set to raise Mzansi’s flag high oorkant.

The Zion Church Choir from Vosloorus in Ekurhuleni will perform during Birmingham’s Rainbow Mega Fest Gospel Concert on Saturday, 29 June.

Pastor Mandla Tshabalala said they are looking forward to the United Kingdom trip.

On Sunday, 23 June, the church hosted a special farewell service, attended by Bishop Benjamin Dube and other pastors from various churches.

Dube prayed for the church leaders and wished them the best ahead of their overseas trip.

The choir features in the Spirit of Praise albums with songs such as Bamba Mzalwane and Lonile Ibandla Lakho.

They will be jetting off on Thursday, 27 June, to perform for the first time outside Mzansi.

Tshabalala said God’s favour is enough for everyone.

“We’re all equal in the eyes of God, even marginalised people of a low standards, because you know, on this earth, we charge one another by the standards of life they are living,” said Pastor Tshabalala.

“But God doesn’t judge people. He’s the God of all, and even in the humble beginnings, God is there.”

He highlighted that Zion churches are not recognised worldwide.

“This time, God is using to show the world that He also exists in the Zion Church.

“Zion is not only wearing uniform or worshipping God. We’re all favoured because He created us,” said Tshabalala.

He added that he believes God gave the church this opportunity to perform overseas.

“Things come to those who wait in the right place at the right time. So, I believe our time has come to minister outside South Africa.

“I believe our creator has used us to tell the world that there’s God in the Zion Church because we’re known all over Africa.

“No one ever thought that Zion churches could minister overseas, so I’m excited about this,” Tshabalala explained.

He said the church is in high spirits ahead of the trip.

“Going to a place you’ve never been, you don’t know what the response would be but we’ve been in touch with the organisers.

“They told us our music has been played on a different radio station in the United Kingdom. This has boosted our confidence, and we can’t wait to perform.”

Tshabalala said he believes the performance could set a pace for other Zion churches.

“This is an opportunity that can turn into an amazing venture for us. Who knows, maybe one we may open Zion Church branches in that part of the world,” he said.

Dube said: “I’m happy for the church to get such an opportunity to perform overseas.

“The choir has been featured in the Spirt of Praise albums in the past five years. I’m glad they’ve received recognition and a chance of a lifetime to perform Zion songs overseas.”
