Snoop Dogg to Carry the Olympic Torch to Kick Off the 2024 Paris Games

Snoop Dogg joins NBCUniversalâs coverage team for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, serving as a special correspondent and carrying the Olympic torch to kick things off.Snoop Dogg gets to light up at this yearâs Olympic Games in Paris as one of the final torchbearers of the Olympic Flame before the opening ceremony kicks off in Paris on Friday, July 26. The 52-year-old will also be on site in Paris to provide regular commentary as a Special Correspondent as part of NBCUniversalâs coverage team.
The rapper and film star will carry the torch through the streets of Saint-Denis in north Paris, which is home to the Stade de France Olympic Stadium. The Saint-Denis stretch is the penultimate leg of the Olympic Flameâs journey before finding its home at the Eiffel Tower. The torch has crossed France since its journey began in May, and has been carried by a wealth of personalities, including former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, Formula One driver Charles Leclerc, and actress Halle Berry.

NBC and streaming service Peacock will be the primary platforms for NBCUniversalâs coverage of the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
Snoop Dogg is a native of Los Angeles â the host city for the 2028 Olympic Games. He will be joined this year on his Saint-Denis leg of the flameâs journey by fellow torchbearers, French actress Laetitia Casta, and French rapper MC Solaar.
Notably, this isnât Snoopâs first involvement in the Olympics, having provided several commentary highlights from the dressage competition during the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2020 and 2021.
