Social Media Reacts To Her Message
Social media users shared mixed reactions to Reginae Carterâs stance in The Shade Roomâs comment section. As The Shade Room previously reported, the natural disaster began engulfing the Los Angeles region on Thursday, January 8. Since then, The Hill has reported that over 35,000 acres of land have been burned, and at least 10 people have been killed.
Instagram user @abominationhottie wrote, âI think folks are missing the fact that you can sympathize with someone but NOT empathize with them. Folks can sympathize that it sucks that people are losing their homes and items but asking lower income folks to EMPATHIZE with people who have multiple homes⊠is something completely differentâŠâ
While Instagram user @adacargo_ added, âHonestly. Some of the comments are soo inhumane.â
Instagram user @michlisaelle wrote, âImagine not having the money to replace what was lost. Now THATS scary. Yea I can sympathize with loosing the home youâve been in for forever but my biggest sympathy goes to people who canât replace that home and legit have to start from scratch and build their way back up!â
Instagram user @nycbajan wrote, âMoney canât buy back everything. Pictures, memorabilia hurts the most.â
Instagram user @charityslove added, âAlso yall act like these rich people donât have people who work for them. There are chefs, nannyâs, house cleaners etc losing their jobs along with these homes burning down. And not all the people are rich rich. Why is it so hard to have empathy for people going through something.â
While Instagram user @_alwayss__t wrote, âRight!! But the comparison is up against those who have lost EVERYTHINGâŠ. Taking up internet space to cry over a vacation home is âweirdââŠ.đźâ
Instagram user @pretty_ona__ added, âItâs called Privilege⊠they will be ok⊠unlike most AmericansâŠâ
