Southland women’s tournament bracket: Full TV schedule, scores, results for 2024 basketball championships

One day after the men’s conference tournament begins, the women’s Southland conference basketball tournament will commence with the first two games on Monday.

Southeastern Louisiana is the most recent conference champion of the Southland conference. They earned their ticket to the NCAA tournament, where they lost, 95-43, to Caitlin Clark’s Iowa Hawkeyes.

The 2023 conference win marked the first for Southeastern Louisiana. Northwestern State owns the most conference championships of the active teams with three wins; they haven’t won since 2015, however.

This season, Lamar enters the tournament with the top seed. They finished with a near perfect conference record, stamping in 17-1.

They lost to Texas A&M-Comm back in January, 73-70, to earn their first and only conference loss. Lamar enters the tournament with a 13-game win streak.

Lamar won their first and only Southland conference championship back in 2010. With a win, they would join Northwestern State and McNeese as the only active members with more than one conference win.

They’re led by Akasha Davis, who’s posting 15.4 points and 10.9 rebounds (12th in the country) per game. She’s shooting 60.8% from the field this season, the 12th-best clip in the country.
