Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse: Release Date, Plot, and Everything You Need to Know
Spidey hits the screens again in 2025, and here’s everything you need to know about the super-anticipated sequel to the Spider-verse saga.
Release Date: When Can We Expect It?
The suspense around Beyond the Spider-Verse is definitely killing us! Although it was originally known to release this March, it was delayed in July 2023 due to Sony’s release schedules.
As of now, there’s one glimmer of hope: June 27, 2025. Yeah, we know, that’s the placeholder for the live-action Spider-Man movie, but can’t we take a bit of room for speculation and predict a simultaneous release?
For now, we can at least swing by Netflix and watch the fan-favorite “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse”, before we finally see the threequel next year.

The absolutely gobsmacking cast of “Beyond the Spider-Verse” is set to deliver dearly, once again. Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld will return as the iconic duo of Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy.
Look forward to witnessing the enigmatic hero Oscar Isaac again as Miguel O’Hara (Spider-Man 2099) and the fierce and powerful Issa Rae as Jessica Drew (Spider-Woman, remember?).
Daniel Kaluuya is likely to find superb fulfilment in his role as the one-and-only Hobie Brown (Spider-Punk), and we can fully expect Jason Schwartzman’s The Spot, Jake Johnson’s Peter B Parker, with Karan Soni’s Pavitr Prabhakar (Indian Spider-Man) to make a marvel-ous comeback. As Miles’ loving parents, Brian Tyree Henry and Luna Lauren Vélez (Jefferson Davis and Rio Morales) are set to return for the movie.
As fan theories and tendencies of the film house suggest, we can expect fan-favorites like Nicolas Cage’s Spider-Man “Noir”, John Mulaney’s “Spider-Ham”, and Kimiko Glenn’s “Peni Parker”, to swing right into the ever-twisted spiderweb of the plot. Which reminds us: what could be the plot?

The absolute cliffhanger of a movie that Across the Spider-Verse” left our eyes looking for clues and the theaters to continue the movie beyond limits, searching for the ending. Miles Morales finds himself all alone in Earth-42, a universe that calls him The Prowler, where his mother is paired up with his Uncle Aaron, while it’s his father who has died.
And at the same time, The Spot is poking holes in the fabric of the Spider-verse, spelling trouble in every universe.
Leading her own squad of trans-universal Spider-People, Gwen Stacy is out to save Miles. But what this does is pitting the duo (and their allies) against their own kind; Miguel O’Hara and the rest of the Spidey Society.
And the universe’s story twists and turns as Miles tries to prevent a canon-event: the death of his father. With added uncertainty about Gwen Stacy’s future in the story, the stakes are higher than a spiderweb on a redwood canopy.
The web-slinging saga is expected to tie up these loose ends and give everyone a closure that they deserve. But little do we know what could happen when The Spot goes spot-free! Expect an absolutely heart-stopping, nail-biting piece of modern cinema!
About the Trailer: Any Footage Yet?

Gods be good, we see the trailer soon. With the actual release date swinging around in limbo, we could at least expect a trailer (or a teaser, please) sometime soon. Just so we get a fair idea about Sony’s timeline, the teaser for Across the Spider-Verse was released in December 2021, followed by the trailer in December 2022, before we saw the whole thing in June 2023.
Following the same, it’s quite confounding whether or not we’ll see Beyond the Spider-Verse this year.
Where to Watch?
Because it is known that Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is available on Netflix, Apple TV, Prime Video and more, it is fair to expect the same for the threequel. But most importantly, let’s not forget the magic of the theatre release first!
Final Thoughts
Swing into action, for the Spider-fandom never seems to die! As we all wait for Sony to release the threequel, let’s make sure we’ve got our facts right.
Building web-shooters to rescuing falling people, the Spider-Men have done it all, and honestly, it’s up to us to look up the facts and find those teeny little references that’ll spice up the 2025 movie for us.
Until then, stay tuned, and keep those spidey-senses tingling!
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is a sequel to Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, a 2023 American animated superhero film featuring the Marvel Comics character Miles Morales / Spider-Man, produced by Columbia Pictures and distributed by Sony Pictures Animation in association with Marvel Entertainment. The sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) and the second film in the Spider-Verse franchise, which is set in a shared multiverse of alternate universes called the “Spider-Verse”, it was directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers and Justin K. Thompson and written by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who both also produced the film alongside Dave Callaham. It stars Shameik Moore, who voices Miles. But later, this film was split into two parts because the story was seen as too long for a single movie. Hence, Beyond the Spider-Verse is the next one coming up.
