Spurs defender completes Championship loan switch
Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou will be working hard to prepare his side for their FA Cup tie against Manchester City next week.Â
The Lilywhites face City in the fourth round of the competition, having defeated fellow Premier League side Burnley 1-0 in the last round.
Spurs will once again be without captain Son Heung-Min for the game against City, but Postecoglou will be hoping that new signing Timo Werner can make an impact.
The North London outfit have already completed the signings of both Werner and defender Radu Dragusin, who joined from Italian side Genoa last week.
Both players made their debuts against Manchester United on Sunday, but Postecoglou will be hoping to see both players impress in the coming weeks.
In the meantime, Tottenham have let one of their players leave on loan.
Tanganga has joined Championship side Millwall on loan for the rest of the season
Millwall confirmed on Thursday that defender Japhet Tanganga had joined the club on loan for the rest of the current campaign.
The 24-year-old centre-back is a product of Spurs’ youth academy and has made 50 appearances for the club across all competitions.
Tanganga has played a bit-part role for the club over recent seasons, and was loaned to German side Augsburg ahead of the current campaign.
He failed to make a single appearance for the Bundesliga outfit, though, largely due to a knee injury sustained last summer.
The Englishman returned to London earlier this month after his loan was terminated early, and he has now joined The Lions on loan until the end of the season.
Central defence has been something of a problem area for Tottenham so far this season, with Micky van de Ven having missed several weeks through injury, while Cristian Romero has also been absent due to suspension.
