Stage 12 highlights: Castrillo climbs to memorable win ahead of Britain’s Poole

Pablo Castrillo (Equipo Kern Pharma) got the better of Britain’s Max Poole (UCI WorldTeam Team DSM–Firmenich PostN) to secure a memorable win on stage 12 of the Vuelta a Espana. The 23-year-old Spaniard raced clear in the final 10 kilometres and proved too quick for the competition. He later dedicated the win to Kern Pharma’s former team president, Manolo Azcona, who has died aged 71.
