Stephen Colbert Wonders Where Else Trump Officials Are Sharing Sensitive Info – Like Maybe OnlyFans | Video
Following the Trump administration accidentally adding the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic to a group chat discussing military plans, Stephen Colbert is wondering where else highly sensitive information is casually getting leaked.
The CBS host largely made what’s become known as “Signalgate” the focus of his monologue, kicking things off by arguing that it’s not fair of “worry warts” to continue saying the Trump administration is evil.
“They’re also dumb!” Colbert added.
In case you somehow missed it, the short version is this: Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and other Trump officials, including Vice President JD Vance, put together a group chat on the messaging app Signal to discuss an upcoming military operation. Jeffrey Goldberg was unintentionally added to that chat, and saw said plans.
“Fun fact: posting war plans on signal may have violated several provisions of the Espionage Act, and the Signal app is not approved by the government for the sharing of classified information,” Colbert explained. “And the only reason we know that they were doing any of this is because they accidentally included a journalist.”
“What else are these merit-based hires posting? What are they doing? Where else?” he continued. “For all we know for just $4.99 a month, you might see the launch codes on OnlyFans.”
Hegseth and other Trump officials swore up and down — both on national television and in official hearings — that no “war plans” were being discussed, and the information in the chat wasn’t classified. So, on Wednesday morning, The Atlantic released the exact info, proving the exact opposite was true.
