Stephen Curry and Adam Pally team up for ‘Mr. Throwback’ trailer
Think ‘The Office’ but for sports.
There are plenty of great sports documentaries that trace meteoric rises, world-changing victories, and career-ending defeats. NBA Pro Stephen Curry (and Hot Ones tackler) knows this well. He has not only appeared but also produced several, ranging from the short “Stephen Curry: Make the Moment” to Stephen Curry: Underrated. So, who better to headline a sports mockumentary about a basketball great who fell way short of fame and fortune?Ā
Meet Mr. Throwback, a comedy series in which Curry makes his first scripted appearance and is joined by Happy Endings alum Adam Pally. Where Curry plays himself in the Peacock original series, Pally portrays Danny Grossman, a down-on-his luck memorabilia dealer who was a teammate with the NBA great āĀ back in sixth grade.Ā
With Curry at the top of his game, can he save Danny from being a loser for the rest of his life? By urging his documentary crew to follow the could-be comeback of his childhood friend, the “once in a generation talent” brings fresh fun to summer TV.Ā
Tune in when Mr. Throwback premieres on Peacock Aug. 8.Ā
