Stipe Miocic claims he exposed weaknesses in ‘beatable’ Jon Jones during retirement fight loss

The consensus UFC heavyweight GOAT had an interesting takeaway from his final fight in mixed martial arts.

Stipe Miocic called time on his career in the cage in 2024, competing in one final title fight against a contender for greatest of all time status, Jon Jones.

Over three years after his previous appearance in the Octagon, Miocic challenged Jones at UFC 309 in a pay-per-view main event that marked the Rochester native’s first and ultimately last heavyweight title defense.

Given Miocic’s age and lengthy layoff, Jones was widely expected to enjoy a comfortable night at the office. That looked to be the case en route to a TKO stoppage in round three.

During a recent interview on Sofascore’s A Guest and a Half show, Miocic suggested he saw plenty of openings against Jones before being stopped by a strike he believes should never have connected.

“He’s good. Really good. But he has weaknesses. I think I exposed a few. He’s beatable,” Miocic added.

When it came to the overall GOAT debate, ‘The Sandman’ selected Anderson Silva.
