2.25: Fact To File 5/2 (1pt)UTTOXETER
1.25: Shanagh Bob (1pt)Fact To FileThere are some great races aside from these Grade 1’s this weekend but these really are the best of the best.
Fact To File has to be favoured given his potential going forward and if he wins this it’s possible he’ll never be this kind of price on this side of evens again.
Fastorslow beat Galopin Des Champs in this last year so shouldn’t be discounted though for superior experience.
That can be vital in races like this and if Galopin Des Champs does also appear in this race alongside stablemate Fact To File it will be hard to also not side with him at 4/1, which is his current price.
He didn’t quite seem with it in this last year as he didn’t jump with the same ease as he usually does and despite looking off, still got close to the two in front.
The eight-year-old two-time Gold Cup winner has now been beaten by Fastorslow on three occasions, including last time out in the Punchestown Gold Cup over 3m1f.
For that, it’s much easier to side with Fact Or File making all as the horse is so well regarded and has the potential to really step up to it this year.
Shanagh BobHillcrest was in the lineup for this but was also declared and ran on Saturday so will obviously bypass this, for his comeback after 982 days away.
That leaves Shanagh Bob having to carry the most weight but he can certainly do that under Nico de Boinville on his chase debut.
This gelding was a strong contender at Aintree but was well beaten in fourth in the Grade 1 Sefton having missed Cheltenham Festival’s Albert Bartlett.
But his hurdle form still suggests he could be well-weighted here and can win this comfortably if taking to fences as expected.
