Super Eagles star linked to Ajax move after underwhelming spell in Italy with 8 G/A in 43 games
Nigeria international Samuel Chukwueze may be headed to Ajax Amsterdam, as the Dutch side seeks to bolster its attacking options on the wings, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 24-year-old winger has struggled to make an impact at AC Milan since his €20 million transfer from Villarreal, tallying only four goals and four assists in 43 appearances.
With AC Milan reportedly open to offers in the range of €18–20 million, Ajax could target Chukwueze as a promising candidate for their wing reinforcements, according to Football Transfers.
Chukwueze’s potential move could address Ajax’s urgent need for depth on the flanks, especially following injuries to Steven Berghuis and the departures of Carlos Forbs and Steven Bergwijn.
Ajax coach Francesco Farioli, who has been rotating his squad heavily, has limited wing options and has eyed potential reinforcements, including Bertrand Traoré and César Huerta from UNAM Pumas.
While a deal for Kamaldeen Sulemana fell through in the summer, Ajax now hopes to secure Chukwueze in the upcoming winter transfer window.
The Nigerian forward could gain significant minutes in Amsterdam, potentially revitalising his career.
Although Chukwueze’s current estimated transfer value stands at €24 million, Ajax might negotiate a lower fee due to Milan’s interest in offloading him.
Other suitors reportedly include Premier League clubs like Aston Villa and Crystal Palace, but Ajax’s style and developmental approach present a strong case for Chukwueze.
This potential transfer offers Ajax an opportunity to strengthen its wing play as they look to regain form in the Eredivisie.
