SwitchArcade Round-Up: ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate’, Plus Other Releases and Sales

Hello gentle readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for July 17th, 2024. We’ve got a quiet Wednesday today with a couple of solid new releases to check out and not a whole lot else. I wanted to have another review ready, but it didn’t quite work out. At any rate, we take a look at those two games and then move in the usual business of our lists of new and expiring sales for the day. A few pretty good new sales today, actually. We’ll talk more about that when we get there. Let’s get to what we’ve got!

Select New Releases
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate ($29.99)

The Apple Arcade TMNT roguelite is now available on the Nintendo Switch, supporting up to four players locally or online. As all modern TMNT games should, in my opinion. Anyway, this is pretty obviously inspired by the likes of Hades, and it turned out pretty good all things considered. We’re spoiled for choice when it comes to Ninja Turtle games on the Switch, but this one benefits from being a little different from the others in terms of structure.

RPM – Road Punk Mayhem ($6.99)

This is a new vertical bullet hell shooter from the developer behind the rather enjoyable Project Starship games. You choose from three pilots and make your way through endless post-apocalyptic wastelands, blasting enemies, picking up fuel tanks, and trying to survive as long as you can. Online leaderboards are included so you can compare your scores against others. Seems like a fun little game for the price.

Sales
(North American eShop, US Prices)

If you enjoy a good puzzle game, check out Filmechanism at a new low price. Shooter fans looking for something a little different should give NeverAwake a look, and it’s a good season to enjoy the Shin-Chan Summer Vacation game. Go through that outbox list carefully today, too. There are some solid games in there like Iconoclasts and Crashlands at absurdly low prices.

That’s all for today, friends. A bit of a quick one, but that’s how it is sometimes. Tomorrow is looking a lot busier, with plenty of releases headlined by Nintendo’s own Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition. We’ll look at all the games worth talking about, plus whatever sales and big new items that roll in over the course of the day. I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday, and as always, thanks for reading!
