T1 vs G2 Esports MSI 2024 Bracket Stage Recap – The Rematch
T1 vs G2 Esports will see the next top side sent home, but can G2 take down T1 at the second time of asking, or will T1 have enough to take down G2 once again

We are quickly approaching the final hours of MSI 2024, and what a tournament it has been already. Yesterday, we saw hometown favorites Bilibili Gaming thrown into the Lower Bracket, and the winner today will face them for a shot at the Grand Final.
Now, T1 and G2 reenter the Rift, in what is probably the most hyped rematch of MSI. G2 turned up in a big way against Top Esports, upsetting the status quo by making it to this point in the event. As for T1, they’ve had a solid showing thus far, but the series against G2 seemed to expose a chink in their armor. Crucially, in a matchup where Caps is G2’s best player, Faker, his mid-lane counterpart has look below his best in MSI so far.
G2 remain the last hope for both Europe and the West. With three incredibly tough games potentially remaining, it’s going to show what version of G2 is at MSI 2024.

T1 vs G2 Esports MSI 2024 Recap
Game 1
First blood went over to T1 after BrokenBlade was caught out after a second lane swap. G2 found a way back quickly, securing a kill on Yike. Despite the slow early game, G2 have made bank off the lane swap, picking up five plates in both the top and bottom lane. The first major team fight broke out, and it was T1 one that just about came out ahead in the fight, despite HansSama cashing in on his Draven stacks.
T1 came back at it as Baron spawned winning yet another team fight as T1 closed the gold gap that G2 built up during the early game. T1 continued to dominate the mid-game, picking up the first Baron as they played out the first game in the series in a calm and collected manner. With Baron on, T1 pushed into the G2 base and that was all she wrote. G2 couldn’t defend their base as the first game in the series went to T1. G2 have a lot of work to do now to turn this around.

First blood once again went over to T1, after Yike was caught out returning from a bot lane gank. T1, however, tried to force a second kill but Faker fumbled the gank and handed the kill over to Caps. While G2 lost early, they found a way to snowball the mid-lane mistake from Faker into three more kills and some great team play in the mid lane.
The first teamfight went the way of T1 in a 2-for-1, with G2 having a good setup but somehow not looking prepared. T1 were able to secure the first Baron, and the fight after went their way as well as T1 looked to push into the G2 base. Caps, however, with a huge play kept G2 alive and fighting another day. Despite T1 having a lead, the game is getting sloppy, which is working in the favor of G2.
Sloppy or not, T1 once again won a team fight, and sent G2 into the dirt. Somehow, G2 managed to stop T1 for a moment, but Faker managed to TP into the base to secure the second game in the series.

A huge mistake in the top side as Zeus sticks around the tower too long as BrokenBlade hit level 2 sooner than he did and claimed first blood for G2. BrokenBlade followed that kill up with another shortly after as G2 got off to a good start. A back and forth early game, but G2 were the ones to come out ahead once again, could they keep the lead this time?
The first major team fight this time does go the way of G2, as they knocked down two members of T1 and knocked down the last of the other mid lane towers. Into the late game, and Baron was the play, and it was G2 tempting T1 into fighting around it. T1 called the bluff of G2, finding Caps in the mid lane and taking him down before G2 could get in to save him, the fight ended 4 for 1 for T1 and the Baron went over to T1. G2 did, however, manage to get the Hextech Drake on the resets securing the Soul.
Baron again is started by G2, but T1 steals it away, and that’s all she wrote. G2 did everything they could, but they fell way short of winning. T1 wins the series 3-0 as G2 heads home.
