T100 announces latest venue for big-money 2025 triathlon tour

The Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO), along with World Triathlon and the Spanish Triathlon Federation, have announced that Valencia will host the Spanish event of the T100 Triathlon World Tour on Saturday 20 September.

Twenty of the top men’s and women’s middle-distance triathletes will go head-to-head over the 100km distance split in to a 2k swim, 80k bike and 18k run.

Contracted T100 stars such as Lucy Charles-Barclay, Taylor Knibb, Ashleigh Gentle, Jess Learmonth, Sam Long, Hayden Wilde and Vincent Luis will be on the start line.

All eyes on Valencia

Not only will the T100 Triathlon World Tour be setting up base in Valencia in September, the World Triathlon World Cup Valencia event will also be taking place on the same weekend.

“This will be the first time a T100 race and a World Triathlon World Cup event have both been staged in the same city,” said PTO CEO Sam Renouf. “Meaning the eyes of the triathlon world will be watching the city that weekend and will see a celebration of the Valencia community.”

Arimany, World Triathlon Elected President.

José Hidalgo, President of the Spanish Triathlon Federation has highlighted that: “The Spanish Triathlon Federation is very happy to announce the T100 circuit will continue to visit Spain this season and that we will continue to be a place of reference in these competitions. Taking advantage of the World Cup in Valencia, we are once again facing an innovative challenge, hosting both competitions on the same date and in the same venue for the first time. T100 wanted to continue in Spain, as it is a key country in the world of triathlon and we also want to live up to the expectations. We are looking forward to the first competition in which both entities, World Triathlon and T100, will coexist.”

The Valencia councillor for Festivities and Traditions, Culture and Sports, José Luis Moreno, pointed out that, for Valencia: “We would like to thank the International Triathlon Federation, together with the national and regional federations and the PTO, for trusting our city to host a sporting event that will bring together the 40 best athletes in the world in this discipline. In addition, this event has generated in previous editions a direct economic impact of 7.5 million euros and a worldwide television audience of 7.4 million viewers in 195 countries around the world with an advertising return of around 50 million euros.”

T100 set for nine events in 2025

The 2025 iteration of the T100 Triathlon World Tour now boasts a nine race schedule beginning on 5-6 April in Singapore.

San Francisco then hosts the second event (31 May-1 June) before trips to Vancouver (13-15 June), France (27-29 June) and London (9-10 August) take place before the Valencia event in Spain.

Las Vegas (TBA) and Dubai (15-16 November) hold the next two events before the Qatar T100 Triathlon World Championship Final takes place on 12-13 December.

The 20 male and female athletes have already been announced for the 2025 season, with defending Tour champions Martin Van Riel and Taylor Knibb set to defend their crowns.
