talkSPORT betting tips – Best football bets and expert advice for Friday 12 July
It’s the calm before the storm on Friday night with fixtures across Europe taking place prior to Sunday’s Euro 2024 showdown.
There are a trio of interesting fixtures in the League of Ireland on Friday evening and we have three selections to consider.

Bet of the DayBohemians to beat Sligo
Bohemians haven’t won for five matches, but they put up a pretty good show when drawing 1-1 at Galway last time out and the Dublin outfit look a side on the up.
The Galway stalemate followed a point at St Patrick’s and Bohemians now get the chance to show they are on the upgrade under Alan Reynolds and Stephen O’Donnell, with a Dalymount Park contest against Sligo.
Rovers are coming off two straight Showground victories, but they were pretty fortunate to beat Derry and Shamrock Rovers and it’s only one away success in eight matches for John Russell’s side.
Bohs crushed Sligo 3-0 at the Showgrounds in May and a repeat victory is on the cards on Friday night.
Special of the dayDundalk to win nil v Drogheda
Drogheda are dropping like a stone down the Premier Division in Ireland and a trip to Dundalk spells trouble for Drogs.
Kevin Doherty’s side are without a win in nine league matches, they have conceded 13 goals in their last six matches and scored only three.
Drogheda are two points adrift at the bottom of the Irish top flight and there doesn’t appear much to be optimistic about on the trip to Oriel Park.
Jon Daly’s side sit just two points above Drogs at the foot of the table, but the Lilywhites have won two of their last five matches and they may be able to see off the challenge of Drogheda without conceding.
Longshot of the dayWaterford to beat Galway
Galway were held to a 1-1 draw by Bohemians at Eamonn Deacy Park last time out and that followed a 2-0 defeat at Shelbourne. The Tribesmen managed only two shots on target in losing to Shels and that doesn’t look like the form of a short-price jolly against Waterford.
John Caulfield has some key players missing for the visit of the Blues and Shane Murphy’s men have been in excellent form.
Waterford have won eight of their last 11 matches, the Blues have conceded only two goals in their last four contests and Friday night’s price looks disrespectful.
