The first round of Champions League qualifiers comes to a close this week, with the second legs of 12 ties set to be completed on Tuesday evening. Only four teams take a two-goal lead into the return fixtures, and none hold a three-goal advantage, meaning almost every tie remains finely poised.

With so much still to play for, there appears to be good value to be found in the betting markets. Below we have picked out the best bets from Tuesday’s fixture list.

Zalgiris Vilnius take a 2-0 lead to Malta for the second leg of their Champions League qualification tie against Hamrun Spartans, and the Lithuanian side are rightly favoured to progress to the next round.

With their domestic league fixture postponed over the weekend to focus fully on preparations for their European tie, the visitors should be well rested for the trip to Malta as they look to set up a tough second-round clash with Dynamo Kyiv.

With three consecutive wins and just one defeat in their last eight matches, Zalgiris are a team in form and should have too much quality for their more limited opponents.

Zalgiris also find themselves in the enviable position of entering the qualifying rounds at full tilt, with the Lithuanian league running from February to November. In contrast, Hamrun Spartans are still in pre-season training, giving the visitors yet another advantage this week.

Special of the day – Lincoln Red Imps to win and both teams to score – 13/5

The highest-scoring match of the first legs ended 3-2 in favour of Lincoln Red Imps, who came out on top in an entertaining clash away to Vikingur in the Faroe Islands.

The match was full of attacking intent from both sides, with 24 shots registered across the 90 minutes. Trailing by a single goal heading into the return leg in Gibraltar, Vikingur will need to push forward, which could leave them exposed at the back and allow the hosts further opportunities to add to their tally.

Each of Lincoln Red Imps’ last four matches has seen both teams score, with the Gibraltarians winning three of those games. Similarly, three of Vikingur’s last four outings have produced goals at both ends, although the Faroese side have claimed just one win during that run. As a result, backing the home side to win and both teams to score appeals.

Longshot of the day – FC Levadia Tallinn to beat RFS – 11/2

Two in-form teams go head-to-head in Latvia in another finely poised Champions League qualifier. Just one goal separates RFS and Levadia Tallinn, and that came from the penalty spot in the first leg of this tie.

The Estonian side sit top of their domestic league, having collected 47 points from a possible 60 so far this season. The 1-0 defeat to RFS was their first loss in eight matches.

Levadia have won each of their last three away games and look overpriced to spring a surprise on their trip to Riga.
