Tank, Quavo, Boosie Badazz, And More Tribute Rich Homie Quan
Rich Homie Quan tragically passed away on Thursday (Sept. 5) at the age of 33, and tributes immediately began pouring in online from his Hip-Hop peers.
Rumors began to circulate of the untimely death online early yesterday morning and were confirmed by the end of the day by the rapper’s family and a rep for the Fulton County morgue. According to the 911 call audio, Rich Homie Quan, born Dequantes Lamar, was found unresponsive by his girlfriend. Gossip attributes his death as drug-related, however, an official cause of death has not been ruled by a coroner.
Rich Homie Quan’s breakthrough came in 2013 with his single “Type Of Way” which reached no. 50 on the Billboard Hot 100. Additionally, collaborations with Gucci Mane, Young Thug, YG, 2 Chainz, and more helped solidify Rich Homie as one of Atlanta’s brightest stars.
Since his death, several artists have reacted to the tremendous loss, including Jacquees who was one of the first to post online. Quavo, Playboi Carti, Tank, Megan Thee Stallion, and more all have paid respects to Rich Homie Quan with posts on social media.

Tank and Rich Homie Quan collaborated in 2013 on Tank’s “She Wit The Sh*t” featured on his Sex Love & Pain II album. On Instagram, Tank uploaded a video playing the track, writing “The session, the song, and the man who changed how i made music from that day forward! I thank you bro for your impact and the love we always exchanged on site! Rest easy soldier.”
Boosie Badazz

Boosie Badazz reflected on recent conversations with Rich Homie Quan sharing on X, “Never forget yo smile n the way talked n of course yo music.”
He added in an additional post, “WE GOT SOME GOOD A** MEMORIES TOGETHER N THAT GO ALWAYS BRING A SMILE TO MY FACE #restupquan WE WAS COOKING UP SOME SH*T TOO.”

Quavo shared a throwback photo of himself, Offset, the late Takeoff, Rich Homie Quan, and Young Thug, who is currently behind bars facing R.I.C.O. charges. In his Instagram stories post, he reflects on how their stories unfolded.
“May God be with US never saw this being apart [sic] of our journey,” adding a rocket emoji over Takeoff, a chain over Thug, a dove over Rich Homie, and a broken heart over Offset, as the two former Migos have shared their falling out and mildly reconciled. After the upload, he followed up by saying he and Offset had a conversation, calling the rapper his brother.
