According to PEOPLE, Taraji P. Henson praised Meagan Thee Stallion after attending her ‘Hot Girl Summer Tour’ in Los Angeles on (June 21). After the concert, the Academy Award-winning actress told the outlet that she is proud to see Megan rise above everything she’s been through.
“That was my first time seeing her perform live on her stage, headlining. She’s amazing. She has been able to withstand all of the adversity and rise above it. She’s incredible. I love you Megan, and I’m so proud of you. That’s my baby girl, by the way.”
PEOPLE reports that Taraji P. Henson and Megan’s friendship began when Taraji appeared in the Houston rapper’s ‘Body’ music video with Angela White, Jordyn Woods, Malibu Mitch, Asian Da Brat, and Tabria Majors.
Since then, Taraji P. Henson has consistently backed Megan, championing women’s empowerment and celebrating their success.
“I’m like auntie, you know? I’m a girl’s girl. Anything women are doing, I’m there. I’m the cheerleader. I’m the loudest one in the front cheering them on, and that’s what you should be as an elder,” Henson told PEOPLE.
The ‘Baby Boy’ actress emphasized her commitment to supporting women, particularly the younger generation, acknowledging the challenges they face.
“Be here for these babies! You know, it’s hard enough out here for women, and what I’m not gonna be is another obstacle for another woman. So, I’m a champion, I’m a team player. I’m a girl’s girl. Go Meg. Go Meg. I got you. I love you.”

Taraji P. Henson and Megan Thee Stallion are set to cross paths at the 2024 BET Awards, airing Sunday, June 30th at 8 p.m. EST, celebrating Black entertainers. Taraji will host the annual ceremony for the third consecutive year and Usher will be honored with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement BET Award. While, Megan will hit the stage to open up show.
Culture’s biggest night will include a star-studded lineup with other performers like, GloRilla, Will Smith, Ice Spice, Latto, Ms. Lauryn Hill, YG Marley, Muni Long, Sexyy Red, Tyla, and Victoria Monét.
Meg Cancels European Tour Dates
Regarding Meg’s ‘Hot Girl Summer Tour,’ the ‘Captain Hook’ femcee made headlines by announcing the cancellation of UK and European dates.
As The Shade Room previously reported, Meg has been making waves this season with her ‘Hot Girl Summer Tour’ alongside GloRilla, which has left fans disappointed over the cancellation of her European shows.
Despite the setback, Megan took to Instagram on Wednesday (June 26) to reassure her fans. The ‘Savage’ artist confirmed that she will still be making her way to Europe, explaining that scheduling adjustments were necessary due to the Dallas Mavericks advancing to the NBA finals. Additionally, ongoing construction issues at her Glasgow venue prompted cancellations.
“I’ll see you sooon on the Hot Girl Summer Tour!! ☀️☀️☀️ With the Dallas Mavericks making it to the NBA Finals and the HGS Dallas show moving, we’ve had to shift a few of our tour dates to accommodate the change but I am still soooooo excited to visit and perform for y’all ❤️ To my Glasgow Hotties I promise I’ll be there soon, the venue informed us of a complex construction project that will close the venue forcing us to cancel the show. But we will find a date in the future !!! I love yall and can’t wait to see you ❤️🔥.”
