Taylor Swift’s year in numbers: Over 100 award nominations, 66 tour dates, 8 Chiefs games and more

2023 (Taylor’s Version).

Although Taylor Swift was already one of the biggest names in the music industry, she somehow took her career to new heights in 2023.

From being named Time’s Person of the Year to having her Eras Tour become the highest-grossing music tour ever, the hitmaker seems to have bolstered herself into an entirely new level of stardom and success.

In the course of a year, Swift rocked the stage in 24 different cities, reached billionaire status, became Spotify’s most-streamed artist with more than 26.1 billion streams, had 44 songs on Billboard’s Hot100 chart and her Eras Tour film raked in over $250 million globally.

Yet if the numbers themselves aren’t enough to convince you, then take it from Swift herself.

“It feels like the breakthrough moment of my career, happening at 33,” the pop star told Time magazine earlier this month of her success. “And for the first time in my life, I was mentally tough enough to take what comes with that.”

She continued, “This is the proudest and happiest I’ve ever felt, and the most creatively fulfilled and free I’ve ever been.”

2 Albums Released

Along with the two albums, Swift also released the song “You’re Losing Me,” which was a vault track from her 2022 album, “Midnights.”

Swift’s decision to release the song — which allegedly details her split from Joe Alwyn — came as a shock to many fans given she previously limited the track to a physical-only deluxe edition of the album.

Swift kicked off her Eras Tour in March and hit the stage nearly every weekend until November, shattering records along the way.

The concerts spanned over three hours, featuring 44 songs from 10 of her albums,16 costume changes and thousands — if not millions — of friendship bracelets.

Not only did the show leave a lasting impact on fans, but also the entire US economy — which saw a $5.7 billion boost due to fan spending.

106 Award Nominations

Throughout the year, the “Man” singer was nominated for 106 awards globally and took home over half of them.

This included winning her 12th Grammy for Best Music Video — she is nominated for six more in 2024 — and also her fourth Golden Globe nomination. While she has yet to win the accolade in film, Swift will have another chance to snag the golden statue in 2024 for “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” film.

On top of her success at the awards shows this year, Swift also pulled out some of her best red carpet looks — including a crystal-covered, hooded jumpsuit at the iHeartRadio Music Awards and an ab-baring midnight blue two-piece at the Grammys.

Over 24 NYC Nights Out

Although she spent lots of time traveling around the world this year, Swift calls New York City home — and seemingly made the most of it when she had any time off.

From hitting the town with the Chiefs WAGs to dining with some her OG besties like Blake Lively and Gigi Hadid, the singer spent lots of time with her friends when back in the Big Apple.

She even seemingly made some new friends along the way, hitting the town with Sophie Turner on numerous occasions amid the “Game of Thrones” star’s split from their mutual ex, Joe Jonas.

Whether she was dressed to the nines in a sparkly mini dress — like on her 34th birthday — or opting for her go-to mini skirt and sweater, the singer seemingly embodied the idea of “work hard, play hard” this year.

3 relationships

Swift called it quits with longtime boyfriend Joe Alwyn sometime in early 2023 after six years of dating — yet the news didn’t break until April.

Following their split, the musician enjoyed a short-lived romance with The 1975’s Matty Healy. However, things quickly fizzled out between Swift and the controversial singer after about a month.

Yet everything changed when NFL star Travis Kelce attended one of Swift’s Eras Tour concerts in July. Following the concert, the Kansas City Chiefs player revealed on his “New Heights” podcast that he tried — and failed — to give Swift his phone number.

Despite the initial snub, one of the pair’s mutual friends somehow convinced Swift to give Kelce a shot and the pair have been going strong ever since.

Although they hid their romance at first, the twosome have since become very proud — and very public — supporters of one another — with Swift attending Kelce’s football games and the athlete traveling to watch his leading lady take the stage.

In fact, those close to the couple believe she may have even found “the 1.”

8 Kansas City Chiefs Games

Swift confirmed her romance with Kelce when she showed up to the NFL star’s game against the Chicago Bears in late September.

Aside from the weeks she was touring, the 12-time Grammy winner quickly became a staple in the stands at Arrowhead Stadium — showing up to support Kelce at eight of his regular season matchups.

Swift made game day look like runway, always rocking her signature red lip, a plethora of plaid mini skirts and numerous different Chiefs sweatshirts over the weeks.

She also found several fun ways to pay tribute to her leading man, wearing “T” earrings, friendships bracelets with his name on them and hats embroidered with “87” — his jersey number.

Not only did she solidify her place in Chiefs Kingdom, but she also seemingly cemented her friendship with Brittany Mahomes, who she sat next to at nearly every one of the games.

At least 100 flights on her private jet

From traveling between tour stops across the globe to visiting her hunky boyfriend in the midwest, Swift spent a lot of time in the air during 2023.

Swift is the owner of two multi-million dollar planes: a Dassault Falcon 7X, her largest jet which can fit up to 16 passengers, and a Dassault Falcon 900, which carries up to 12 people.

Per aircraft-tracking website JetSpy, the singer’s Falcon 7x was flown 97 times this year and her smaller plane was used for 68 flights.

While Swift has faced backlash for her carbon emissions over the years, a spokesperson for the “Anti-Hero” singer revealed last year that her “jet is loaned out regularly to other individuals.”

“To attribute most or all of these trips to her is blatantly incorrect,” they said at the time.

Although it’s unclear exactly how many of the flights listed Swift was actually on, her planes were surely being put to use.
