Terri Harper vs. Natalie Zimmerman full card results, highlights as three-weight boxing champ retains WBO lightweight crown in Doncaster

Terri Harper retained her WBO lightweight title with a wide unanimous decision victory over a bloodied Natalie Zimmerman in Doncaster.

Three-weight world champion Harper (16-2-2, 6 KOs) was making a homecoming appearance at the Keepmoat Stadium and her control of the action was reflected by three 99-91 scorecards.

A head clash in the final round left Zimmerman (13-1, 3 KOs) with a gruesome cut that would almost certainly have forced a stoppage had it arrived earlier in the contest.

Harper’s attention could now turn towards an all-British unification with WBC champion Caroline Dubois.

Zimmerman was a late convert to boxing, having previously competed in taekwondo and kickboxing, and there was more than a hint of novice about her ponderous start, squared up and exposed to Harper’s solid fundamentals

Harper scored with a left hook, then right hand before unloading in the neutral corner. The champion also worked well to the body but ended the opener with a bloodied nose. It was nothing compared to the damage her opponent would wear at the end.

Zimmerman was driven back by a right hand in the second when Harper neglected the jab too often in favour of winging in with power shots.

The challenger briefly made a better fist of closing the distance early in round three before shipping a booming right on the way in. A long jab from Harper left her foe retreating to the ropes once more by the end of the session.

A short right hook staggered Zimmerman inside the final 30 seconds of the fourth. The pattern was set and continued after halfway, with Zimmerman’s grit and determination keeping her in the contest, while Harper’s over-eagerness for the stoppage was counter-productive at times.

— DAZN Boxing (@DAZNBoxing) May 23, 2025The weight of Harper’s punches seemed to be having an effect by the end of round eight when Zimmerman, groggy from a left hook, was glad to hear the bell. It was to the visitor’s credit that the ninth was probably her best as she punched with Harper to land a couple of zinging counter right hands.

Early in the final round, the fighters’ heads came together and opened a gruesome cut above Zimmerman’s right eye. Referee Steve Gray let the challenger battle through to the final bell through a mask of blood as Harper sought to close the show, the result long beyond doubt.
