Terry Iwanskis The Headhunters Granddaughter will illuminate ReadersMagnets book exhibit at the 2024 Printers Row Lit Fest, which will take place on September 7 and 8, 2024, at Printers Row along Dearborn Street in downtown Chicago, Illinois.

The Printers Row Lit Fest is a bibliographic celebration spearheaded by the not-for-profit Near South Planning Board. As the largest outdoor literary event in the Midwest, it allows authors, publishing companies, book marketers, antiquarians, and content creators to gather and enjoy the festivity while strengthening their connections and business opportunities.

The Headhunters Granddaughter is a true story based on the life of Pedo AK Rupa, a salon attendant who was born and raised in the deep jungles of Borneo. As a baby, Pedo was sold by her poor parents to her uncle. Her uncle had already planned on having her to work in the fields. Pedo grew up being breastfed by several women in their village. She also grew up naked to the world until one woman took pity and gifted her with an old, white smock that she wore for many years. Once in her senses and proper age, Pedo took a leap of faith and took her chance to escape the gripping chains of poverty and abuse.

Terry Iwanski, a writer, visited a salon and noticed a smiling Pedo who was hoping to attract another customer. Their meeting took a fruitful turn, as stories were shared, and now they are immortalized in this book.
