‘That cost me £150million!’… Tyson Fury leaves Conor McGregor in stitches after Anthony Joshua’s KO loss

Tyson Fury had Conor McGregor in hysterics at ringside after watching one of the biggest fights of his life go up in smoke.

The two-time heavyweight boxing champion was in London to watch long-time rival Anthony Joshua’s record-breaking showdown with Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium last night. Fans have been clamouring for a fight between he and Joshua for years, and it seemed closer than ever.

Fury is currently preparing for a rematch with Oleksandr Usyk in December, with the winner expected to unify the division with last night’s victor. But despite hopes that such a fight would be Fury vs Joshua, Dubois spoiled plans with a bludgeoning knockout win in the fifth round.

The hard-hitting heavyweights were competing for the former’s IBF title, which he won on a technicality after the belt was vacated.

Experts and fans tended to lean towards Joshua being favourite, and bookmakers’ odds were widely on his side as well. But Dubois sprinted out of the traps and landed heavy punches early, causing serious trouble to the two-time world champion.

However, that comeback left him open to a counter and Dubois obliged with one of the heaviest punches in recent memory to stop the contest. The win places the younger Brit as one of the world’s best heavyweights after seeming down and out following his loss to Usyk this time last year.

Tyson Fury laments lost £150million as Conor McGregor laughs behind himAmong the 98,000+ attendees were a number of celebrities and athletes, most notably fellow heavyweight contenders Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk. The duo are set to do battle again in December after a barn-burner in May ended by controversial split decision.

Fury and Joshua is believed to be one of the biggest fights that could be made in all of boxing, with the British duo sharing a feud that dates back well over a decade. But with Joshua tasting his fourth defeat in such brutal fashion, it appears all hope of such a clash is now gone.

Fury was sat at ringside next to UFC legend Conor McGregor, who giggled along as the giant heavyweight voiced his displeasure with the outcome. Fury was caught on camera speaking with his manager Spencer Brown, and trying to get the attention of organiser Turki Alalsheikh.

“Listen, that’s cost me £150million the silly c***,” Fury told Brown, who insisted the bout could still be salvaged. “Of course it has, he’s f***ed. Turki, you better pay me now!”
