That’s Bro, Huh? Drake Shows Support For Tory Lanez Amid His Conviction Appeal
It looks like the Canadians are sticking together! Drake recently shook the innanet when he seemingly advocated for Tory Lanez’s release from prison.
Overnight on Monday (Feb. 26), Drizzy shared a photo of Tory on his Instagram Story. He wrote “3 you” in white text under the ‘Say It’ rapper’s side profile flick.
See Drake’s post below.
As previously reported, Tory is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence in connection to the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. Lanez has been trying to land a get-out-jail moment since receiving his sentence in August 2023.
His reality check (aka sentence) came seven months after a jury convicted him on three charges, including discharging a firearm with gross negligence, assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle.
His recent appeal, filed in December, sought to vacate his sentence. The paperwork reportedly cited unheard testimony from Tory’s bodyguard and driver, Jauquan Smith, who was present during the shooting. As previously reported, the dual employee did not testify in the viral trial.
But Smith is now claiming that he saw Megan’s ex-best friend Kelsey Harris — who did testify during the trial — holding the gun. Not firing it, but at a minimum holding it.
Tory Lanez’s appeal is expected to be heard in court today — hence Drake’s post.

During the trial, the jury heard an 80-minute interview of Kelsey speaking to the police and identifying Tory as the shooter. However, she seemingly switched up her story when she took the stand on day four of Lanez’s trial.
Now it looks like Tory’s defense is attempting to cast doubt on Tory being the gunman by pointing the finger at Kelsey.
This Isn’t The First Time Drake Has Publicly Sided With Tory Lanez
Meanwhile, the victim in the case, Megan Thee Stallion, has maintained that Tory Lanez is the gunman who fired the gun at her.
Following the appeal filing in December, Megan popped off online and reminded folks that the man who shot her was already behind bars. She also questioned why Kelsey wasn’t defending herself.
“Kelsey didn’t motherf**king shoot me, Megan said. “But now you won’t get online and defend yourself, so that just proves my point either you took some money or your life is in danger, like why won’t you get online…”

Megan previously chewed Drake up in November 2022 after he released the track ‘Circo Loco.’ Five lines into the song, Drizzy raps, “This b***h lie ’bout getting shots, but she still a stallion.”
On X, Meg clapped back at the lyrics:
“I know I’m very popular but y’all gotta stop attaching weak a** conspiracy theories in bars to my name lol,” Megan posted. “N–gas nor hoes EVER address me or @ me WITH a fact or receipts. I AM CLOUT B***H keep sucking my p***y.”
Last month, Stallion fans speculated she took another aim at Drake’s neck for defending Tory in her viral release ‘Hiss.’ At the end of the song, she rapped:
“Say b***h ass nigga. Don’t type me nothing else, don’t write me nothing else (f**k this). Download J-Pay, since y’all n****s got so much to say. Or schedule a conjugal visit or something (ha-ha). D**k riding a*s n****s (pow-pow-pow).”
